Our shop has a great inventory of keys, locks, padlocks, safes, and additional security products to fit your needs. Also, we have relationships with vendors up and down the West Coast, so if you need an item that we don’t have in stock we can likely get it within 1 or 2 business days.
ANSI GRADES
The American Nation Standards Institute (ANSI) grading system for locks and locksets ranges from 1 (the highest grade) to 3 (the lowest grade). It factors in longevity of the lock, toughness, and bolt length.
Grade 1
Usually used on commercial applications or where the toughest, most secure locks are needed.
Tested to withstand 1 million opening and closing cycles for deadbolts, 800,000 for tubular locksets.
Grade 2
A mid-grade lock for a mid-grade price — usually used on residential doors.
Tested to withstand 800,000 opening and closing cycles for deadbolts, 400,000 for tubular locksets.
Grade 3
Usually used as a secondary security measure on a door.
Tested to withstand 800,000 opening and closing cycles for deadbolts, 200,000 for tubular locksets.
